Mill Creek Farm End-of-Season Fundraiser

Put your 20 spot toward a really good tomato at this inaugural end-of-season party and fundraiser for Mill Creek Farm, a local org that utilizes vacant land to bring Philadelphians produce grown right here on the grid. In addition to light food and drink, the West Philadelphia Orchestra and Fan of Friends will get the music going, and a silent auction will give attendees will a chance to win gift certificates to local spots like Standard Tap and Beau Monde as well as other prizes. Christmas in Italy Dinner at Osteria
Mon., Dec. 17, 6:30-10 p.m., $150 per person (includes wine, tax and gratuity)

Dine in lavish Italian style at Osteria's first Christmas dinner. Sparkling Prosecco will accompany bites known as stuzzichini during cocktail hour; eel with polenta will pair with soft Dolcetto d'Alba; stuffed capon will get dressed for the party with root vegetables and salsa verde. Other courses (all paired with wines) include cotechino e lenticchie (pork sausage and lentils, a classic Italian holiday dish), tortellini in broth, panettone with mascarpone crema and more. A Beer Bacchanalia in Two Parts

Swill the holiday spirit when local breweries show up with their new winter beers at this two-night tasting party at Bridgid's. Three drafts, a mini keg and lots o' bottles will be on hand, like Legacy's Nor'easter oatmeal stout, Nodding Head's Sledwrecker spiced dark ale and Brooklyn Local 1, a strong golden ale.
