It's easy for anyone to get lost in Chicago's competitive free-jazz scene, so at a mere 24 years old and female in a notoriously boys-club environment, it says something that recent arrival Jaimie Branch is already staking a claim for attention. Her trio certainly places her in impressive company, consisting of fellow Chicagoan Tim Daisy on drums and Connecticut-based cellist Daniel Levin, both of whom know their way around the full spectrum of improvised music.
