With more 45s than Billy Dee Williams' recycling bucket, DJs Cut Chemist and Shadow are coming to town for a live production of musical trickery. The setup is rumored to include two guitar loop petals and eight turntables. Although both DJs are better known in the underground, each has had flirtations with mainstream success. Cut Chemist's resume: DJ in Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli. DJ Shadow: remixes for Brit darlings Keane and a place in the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records for the first completely sampled album. Following the duo's previously released CD/tour offerings Brainfreeze (Sixty 7) and Product Placement (One 29), they are back this year with the Hard Sell tour and DVD. They'll be supported by Kid Koala, who is also in the same category of underground notoriety. If you're into watching DJs cut, scratch, blend, mash-up and just plain show off, this night is definitely for you.
Fri., Jan. 25, 9 p.m., $30, with Kid Koala, Fillmore at TLA, 334 South St., 215-922-1011, livenation.com.
