Her lyrics may be a little bit bland and preachy. But with a voice as stormy as it is silken and a set of melodies fusing cool California jazz (she lives in Oakland) and Louisiana swamp-gospel (she was born in New Orleans and sang with its Symphony Orchestra when she was a kid), it's impossible not to love Ledisi Young. Throw in some rump-shaking beats and some quiet-storming soul and you've got the sound of Lost & Found, her new CD.
