In The Event That...

The Electric Slide Is Not Invited to Your Wedding

Tracy McGinnis and Kim Pacini are feeling the love this week, but it has nothing to do with Valentine's Day. Hoping to put an eco-friendly spin on the typical bridal expo, the sisters are hosting Unbridaled, an alternative wedding showcase for local, handmade and environmentally responsible goods and services.

Complete with organic caterers, enviro-friendly event planners and local designers, Unbridaled is ideal for couples who find nothing sexy about mass-produced David's Bridal costumes. Delicious Boutique, Society Hill Dance Academy, JuJu Salon and Organics, Zahra's Floral Studio and Pacini's own candle company, Wixwax, will be among the slew of Philly-based vendors in attendance. Additionally, the day will feature fire-spinning demos, a pole dancing instructor and two fashion shows by the cat-walking Philly Roller Girls. (In other words, leave your mother-in-law home.)

Can't legally get married, per se? Unbridaled is actually more about love than ceremonies, and participating ministers perform both weddings and civil unions. "It's open to everybody," says McGinnis. "It's for people who want to have a commitment to each other."
