Bridesmaids dresses are plenty scary in the closet, let alone out in public. But if you want to play GayBINGO this month, you'll have to break out the taffeta. "We thought a funny image would be pissed-off women who have to go to so many weddings and spend money on these bridesmaids dresses," says Kelly Groves, the evening's host and community relations coordinator for Philadelphia AIDS Fund.

According to Groves — who hosts GayBINGO as Shady Pines, a sort of "foulmouthed and irreverent bad girl" — your tackiest, ugliest bridesmaid garb will finally serve you well. In addition to the usual 12 bingo rounds, the night includes a costume contest and chances to take wedding-inspired Polaroid snapshots under a dreadfully festive arch. Proceeds will benefit the AIDS Fund, which supports HIV/AIDS education and services in the Delaware Valley.

Seafoam green, here we come.
