What We Heart

SoftBowls

Published: Mar 26, 2008

$39, at Foster's Homeware, 399 Market St., 215-925-0950, shopfosters.com

While SoftBowls can't do much for soup, they're stylish containers for just about everything else. Handmade right here in Philly, they're as friendly to the Earth as they are to the eye: Made from 100 percent molded wool, they eat up one-tenth the energy it takes to make their ceramic equivalent. We like the bright yellow and pumpkin SoftBowls for bracelets, but the more subtle charcoal keeps things sleek and professional at the office. Bored mixing and matching the colors you have? These babies are compostable, so toss 'em in with the veggies and redecorate.
