Fulya Ugur, one half of the sibling team behind G-Ho's Divan Turkish Kitchen (918 S. 22nd St.), looks to open this 30-seat coffee and Turkish pastry shop in the first two weeks of May. (Her brother, Ilker, recently purchased the building housing the property, so she's technically his tenant.) Specialties will include a rotating selection of Turkish pastries, baked goods and made-from-scratch sweets; Turkish breakfast, a platter spread that includes a selection of cheese, olives, boiled egg, tomatoes, jams and more; and fresh-squeezed fruit and veggie juices (Fulya is looking into the possibility of making these all-organic).

By the time this issue hits the stands, Kanella, from former Meze Mediterranean chef Konstantinos Pitsillides, may or may not be open — the crafty Cypriot won't commit to a calendar date, but told us last week he'd fire up the stove in no less than 10 days. The casual restaurant, which seats between 45 and 50, was designed by his wife, Caroline; it will be priced similarly to Logan's, the Greek-American diner that formerly occupied the space. "What I serve at home is what I'll serve at the restaurant," says Pitsillides. The menu stresses simplicity — the chef will work with organic free-range meats and game, with plenty of secondary cuts, like shoulders and offal; he'll also do locally sourced fish daily. Traditional dishes will include seftalia, spiced meat mixed with bread crumbs and wrapped in caul, an offal membrane; and loukoumades, a Greek sweet comparable to funnel cake.

>> Benna's Café owner Nancy Trachtenberg will debut B2, her second location, on Sat., May 3, in the former E's Passyunk (1500 E. Passyunk Ave.). The following day, she'll host an outdoor arts and crafts fair with goods from 20 different vendors.
