From the Mean Streets of Bryn Mawr
I have been a gun owner for more than 20 years. I have taught all of my children and grandchildren proper gun-safety procedures. I think what we need to do in our public schools is to have a mandatory gun-safety class for all students in the first grade. These courses are taught by the NRA Eddie the Eagle program. The courses are free and do not involve the use of guns or gun props. I believe this course would help to reduce the cases of kids bringing guns to school. The course would also help reduce the number of accidental shootings of children. I believe in responsible gun ownership. This means I keep my guns locked up at all times (except my personal defense gun) and I do not show off my guns to my kids' friends. I also think that as a gun owner I have a responsibility to educate people about the need to use safe gun-handling practices.
I feel strongly that making more gun control laws will only hamper law-abiding citizens from exercising their Second Amendment rights, they will do nothing to stop anyone from using or obtaining a gun through criminal channels.

There was a blip by Pastor Byrd in the April 24 issue [Naked City, "Quote of the Week"], in which the Pastor claimed Obama "might be Islamic" because "his name is so close to Osama." Based on Pastor Byrd's name and his logic, I think the Pastor might be a birdbrain.

Do you think Obama and Hillary blew a tremendous opportunity to provide an American solution to the "Cheesesteak Controversy"? Wouldn't it have been terrific if one of them had the courage to provide an American solution to this problem by having Geno's put numbers by their selections? We might not be able to communicate, but we can count or give an indication with our fingers. The Obama Sandwich, the one ordered by using his middle finger, could prove very popular. Did he flip off Hillary? I don't think so, but he blew a great opportunity.

The baritone saxophone is not the lowest-register variety of the saxophone family [Music, "PRISM Quartet," Peter Burwasser, April 24, 2008]. There are four that play in lower registers. They are the bass saxophone, contrabass saxophone, the E-flat Tubax and the B-flat Tubax. All are in production and available for purchase at various dealers throughout the U.S. and Europe.
