Sunday Supper at Supper
Sun., June 1, 6:30 p.m., $35

"They're putting themselves in my hands," says Supper executive chef and proprietor Mitch Prensky of guests to his Sunday Suppers, where he selects the fare for the single-seating, three-course prix fixe meal held every first Sunday of the month. Everyone receives the same starter before the main entrée is passed around the table family-style. June's theme is Mediterranean with Greek and Middle Eastern flavors. Sunday Suppers are BYO, but the house also offers selected wines at half price. Reservations required. Supper, 926 South St., 215-592-8180, supperphilly.com.

Food Made Fast: Grilling Cooking Class

Whether you're a novice or a know-it-all, your shrimp tacos with lime slaw and onion-topped Italian burgers will come out fast — and full of flavor. Williams-Sonoma, Bellevue, 200 S. A Taste of Latin America
Thu., June 5, 5:45-7:45 p.m., $65

The impending summer heat means you need to get familiar with some solid Latin dishes to complement all those margaritas. Temple University Center City enlisted the expertise of chef Owen Lee, host of WHYY's One for the Road, to teach the intricacies of tapas, Latin-flair hors d'oeuvres and various delicacies from Mexico, South America and the Caribbean. Foster's Homeware, 399 Market St., 215-925-0950, shopfosters.com.
