Alex's Original Lemonade Stand

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has collected more than $19 million for pediatric cancer research. Now in its ninth year, this local fundraising event will be held at founder Alexandra Scott's elementary school in conjunction with Lemonade Days, a three-day national event held every June. Over citrus sips, attendees will also enjoy pizza, hot dogs, baked goods, lawn races, live music and a butterfly release sponsored by Volvo. Penn Wynne Elementary School, 250 E. Seasonal Eats at XIX
Through spring and summer

One of Philly's most distinct outdoor dining destinations, XIX restaurant has started serving spring specials on its high-above-Center City balconies, including a $30 three-course dinner menu complete with a rotating buffet of salad, fruit and fresh breads and seasonal entrées like handmade pierogies, roasted veal strip loin and marinated white anchovies. Pastry chef Dan Pino's house-made ice creams range from classic crowd-pleaser vanilla to a rocky road chock full of bourbon marshmallows. Annual Slow Food Pig Roast at the Philadelphia Brewing Co.

There'll be enough beer to quench every last parched throat in Kensington at Slow Food Philadelphia's Pig Roast fundraiser. Sample several brews from the Philadelphia Brewing Co., including Kenzinger, Rowhouse Red, Walt Wit and Newbold IPA. Philly Beer 101 at the Trolley Car Diner
Tue., June 10, 7-9 p.m., $39

Don Russell, aka Daily News columnist Joe Sixpack, refines your beer-guzzling palate with this course on Philly's best local beers, how they're brewed and where to find them. Enthusiasts will learn about each brewery's history and current styles and how to best pair fare with foamy favorites. Trolley Car chef Dwight Forrest will prepare sampling-size food accompaniments.
