NOW SEATING

The Woolly Mammoth, 430 South St., 215-923-8780

Owner Matt Woody has turned South Street institution Cheers to You into the Woolly Mammoth, so dubbed due to a nickname — "Wooly" — coined when a DelCo newspaper misprinted Woody's name in a writeup about an off-roading citation he'd received. The bar features a polished interior and new plasma-screen TVs; the upstairs still features billiards. Fifteen beers on tap, with between 60 and 70 bottled choices; food includes takes on bar classics like roast pork, burgers, sliders and more.

WAITING LIST

Home Slice, Liberties Walk, 1030 N. Second St.

Shannon Dougherty and Liz Petersen, who own A Full Plate Café on Liberties Walk (215-627-4068, afullplate.com), are working on this pizzeria in the Walk space formerly occupied by Pizza U Empire. The menu, which will be veg-friendly, will feature the same fresh-first approach as AFP — think whole-wheat dough, organic toppings and vegan cheeses. They'll also offer burgers, salads, fries, steaks, etc. No opening date yet, but Petersen says they'll definitely be ready before the end of the summer.

Cantina Dos Segundos, 931 N. Second St.

Stephen Simons and Dave Frank confirmed last week that they've taken over NoLibs' Azure to open Dos Segundos, the sibling to their smash-hit Cantina Los Caballitos (1651 E. Passyunk Ave.). Expect fresh fruit margaritas, a primo tequila list and eats like tacos and ceviches. Chef Mark McKinney has also teased a few platos fuertes, including the robalo a la plancha, grilled sea bass served with a Seville orange juice/Serrano chile salsa, an amaranth grains salad and wild Mexican greens.

LITTLE VITTLES

Tria (triacafe.com) is hunting for its third location. Owner Jon Myerow has narrowed it down to three neighborhoods — Bella Vista, Fairmount and Graduate Hospital. Go go G-Ho. (Guess where I live?)
