If there's one thing that fantasy genre lovers have in common, it's that they're always willing to spin off their beloved stories into new mediums. Recommended for nerds 12 and over, the Central Branch of the Free Library's Harry Potter Wizard Rock Concert features Potter-inspired bands the Remus Lupins, Draco and the Malfoys (pictured), the Whomping Willows and Justin Finch Fletchley. Philly is but one stop on the bands' — all of which except the Lupins hail from Rhode Island — nationwide library and bookstore tour.
"Wizard Rock musicians are cool, and love to read. What better way to promote reading?" says library coordinator Susan Conway. Additionally, the show acts as an intro to a couple of WR subsets: Evil Wizard Rock (Draco and the Malfoys) and Botanical Wizard Rock (the Whomping Willows).
