It's bittersweet to see our girl Sheila Frank kicking ass. As much as lady deserves her NYC runway show, we would like another round of those pinup bathing suits next summer. And when holiday season arrives, we'll be needing a new go-to party dress. What if New York wants to ... keep her? Join us next Thursday for a little fashion day trip to support Sheila at Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn — and make sure she knows her way home. The Philly-based designer and recent Moore grad will be showing her Spring 2009 collection, a sneak peek of which is enough to kill the thrill of fall boot shopping. Super flirty and almost Victorian at times, the pieces feel fresh with metallics and unexpected cuts. A sheer champagne skirt finishes off a bronze bodysuit; another strapless gold dress feels more traditional before ending suddenly and choppily mid-thigh. Oh my Chase, New York will eat this up. RSVP to amyra@sheilafrank.com quick, friends — we'll need all the help we can get.

Venturing off the well-worn First Friday path this month brings many rewards. For "Oh, I'm So Glad We're Friends!" photographer Emily Wren teamed up with stylist and jewelry artist Esther K. for an end-of-summer photo exhibit. With plenty of retro details (almost all the clothing is from Vintage Connection), the series pays tribute to the warmer months behind us with yellow cotton sundresses and puddles of ice cream cones. The project, which the ladies have been working on since the spring, feels as seductive as late July evenings with shots of raspberry-stained palms, flower-crowned girls in white cotton undies and half-mangled Bundt cakes. At the opening reception, Vintage Connection owner Heather Waity will have a $10 rack and plenty of other markdowns in addition to new fall merch. Not quite summer nights, but we'll take it.
If all toddlers were as endearing as Grasshopper, we'd have to review our kid policy. (Until then, no eye contact unless there are fruit snacks at stake.) In celebration of their two-year anniversary, owners Regina Mandell and Tracy Lutz are giving you 25 percent off everything in their Walnut Street boutique. Everything as in men's clothes, women's clothes, accessories, those Laura Kranitz feather hair clips and that Zack Morris-esque phone clutch we've been eyeing up. Birthdays where we get presents are our favorite kind — next stop, Christmas.
