How Philly Moves

You want to dance. J.J. Tiziou wants you to dance, too, so he can photograph it. The local artist has spent this year using his How Philly Moves project to document the diverse faces of dance in Philadelphia. During Fringe, his West Philly studio will double as a dance hall where you can show up, sign up and show him what you've got for 10 minutes. After the strobe flash is done popping and your eyes readjust, watch as your picture — and others' — scroll in a computerized slideshow in the waiting area.

—John Vettese

Sept. 12, noon to 7 p.m.; Sept. 13-14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; free, Studio 34, 4522 Baltimore Ave.

Media Addicts

Stop. Put down the mouse. Step away from MySpace.

Somehow, six teens managed to do just that, and were promptly carted off to media camp, where they learned how to kick their addictions to social networking and video games. It's all captured in Open Palm Production's Media Addicts, a 55-minute show that demonstrates how the subjects learned to appreciate human interaction amid the digital revolution.

Will they go back to their old ways? Check it out to see. In the meantime, uh, do me a solid and pimp this review on your Facebook? Thanks!

—Tom Namako

Sept. 11-12, 6 p.m.; Sept. 13, 2 and 6 p.m.; $5, Milk Depot, 2042 Amber St.

oOOoOoOo

Take nine talented modern dance UArts grads, many BalletX students (including one moonlighting as an Eagles cheerleader) and what've you got? In the case of the Pink Hair Affair, you have a small, spirited troupe of ladies sporting pink wigs on heads filled with clever dance ideas. Debuting at last year's Fringe, they showed solid instincts as producers. They know how to pace a show, and how to stage it using few props and lots of imagination. Proudly announcing they're sponsored by the letter O and the number 0, they're taking on everything from dOdgeball to Office chair while you're going "oOOoOoOo."

—Janet Anderson

Sept. 11-12, 8 p.m.; Sept. 13, 2 and 8 p.m.; $10, Susan Hess Studio, 2030 Sansom St., third floor
