Alchemical Rotation (pictured), "the title track of the show" according to Germ owner David Williams, is an amalgamation of styles — like the love child of Diego Rivera and R. Crumb.
Eight ceramic artists created pieces of tableware (including Kristin Pavelka's delectable, pastel plates) inspired by the best meal ever: dessert. Dylan Carroll's vivid, colorful watercolors of gods and goddesses are from Viking lore. Odin is the chief god of the Norse pantheon — simultaneously the god of war and death, poetry and wisdom. Carroll portrays Odin, in his eponymous work, with a long white beard and eyes closed against a cloudy blue sky. Ravens Huginn and Muninn, who fly around the world every day and report their findings to Odin at night, soar behind him.
