The Norwich, U.K., sextet Bearsuit veers from shambolic orch-pop to spasmodic thrash. Imagine Belle and Sebastian and The Boredoms crammed together in a barrel and shoved down a steep hill, or a mad scientist's crossbreed of Heavenly and Huggy Bear. Hurling themselves from one end of the musical spectrum to the other, often within the space of a single song, they spiral vertiginously through space, which may explain their lyrical fondness for science fiction. Oh:io, their second album, ups the coherence quotient ever so slightly, but not enough so as to lessen the sense of childlike chaos. Bearsuit's sandbox is full of sharp objects, but it's still a dangerously fun place to play.
