Sierra Nevada Tasting at O'Neal's Pub
Thu., Oct. 30, 8-11 p.m.

Sierra Nevada's Chico Estate Harvest Ale is a product of serendipity. The SN crew planted hop fields around their California brewery expecting lackluster results. But the harvest turned out great, and hops were sent straight to the kettles, retaining their resin-y, hoppy glory. O'Neal's Pub has the only keg of the stuff in the entire city, so get there while it lasts. They'll also be pouring Sierra Celebration, a 6.8 percent winter ale.

Ommegang/Duvel/Maredsous Beer Dinner at Devil's Den
Tue., Oct. 28, 7 p.m., $50

Belgians are the focus of this evening at the Den — they'll be pouring winners like Duvel Golden Ale, Ommegang's Rare Vos Belgian Amber Ale and Three Philosophers Quadruple Belgian Style Blend. Eats will include treats like oysters with ginger sorbet, fennel fries, seared tuna, lamb with braised cabbage and Belgian chocolate for dessert. Devil's Den, 1148 S. 11th St., 215-339-0855, devilsdenphilly.com.
