Off the Blanket
Sun., Nov. 30, noon-6 p.m., Space 1026, 1026 Arch St., space1026.com

Before you go Black Friday bingeing, keep in mind that there is an entire season of holiday shopping after the holiest of holy days. (And, you know, that rent is due in two days.) Space 1026's annual flea market/party, Off the Blanket, features artist members' work, some of which you can pick up year-round in their gallery store. Looking for something super special? Come back next Friday (Dec. 5) for a preview of pieces in their upcoming art auction.

City Paper Trunk Show
Fri., Nov. 28, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., TLA, 334 South St., citypaper.net/trunkshow

We completely respect and admire the brave souls who are leaving for KOP this morning in the dark. Who doesn't want free soft things from Express and a Cinnabon breakfast? But, in addition to supporting shopping locally, we plan to be hung over on pie and all things cider until about noon on Black Friday. Join us, fellow chunky pumpkins, for a City Paper trunk show at the TLA featuring local artists, crafters and boutiques. We've got 50 some tables to check out, including Girlscantell, bsshirts, Nicole Rae Styer, Pin Up Squirrel, Sweet Jane and our very own Ivy Glass.

Made in Philly Holiday Craft Fair
Sun., Dec. 7, 1-7 p.m., Studio 34, 4522 Baltimore Ave., 215-387-3434, studio34yoga.com

Leave it to West Philly to one-up us and throw a craft fair featuring all handmade, all locally made wares. The lovely VIX Emporium and the also-lovely Studio 34 are teaming up for this very DIY shopping day. (Look for pieces from VIX co-owner Emily Conroy, the jewelry designer behind Precious Meshes.) Of course, this being West Philly, you can also hit up UC Arts League (4226 Spruce St., 215-382-7811, ucartsleague.org) today and through Dec. 19 for more locally crafted gifts, many of which are made from recycled materials.

Standard Craft
Sat., Dec. 6, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Standard Tap, 901 N. Second St., 215-238-0630, positivespace.net

Positive Space's annual holiday craft sale is a little present in itself: work by 16 local artists, Standard Tap brunch and Bloody Marys all under one cozy roof. Now this, friends, is a Christmas miracle.

Other Black Friday Happenings

Remember that part about rent? Good luck, kiddos — this city is full of holiday sales today. Bus Stop (750 S. Fourth St., 215-627-2357, busstopboutique.com) is hosting an opening reception for local artist Anabelle Rodriguez this evening as well as offering 15 percent off all autumn boots and holiday shoes. Everything at Arcadia Boutique (819 N. Second St., 215-667-8099, arcadiaboutique.com) is 25 percent off today, unless it's black — in which case it will be 50 percent off. Last and possibly most dangerous, all regularly priced merch at Grasshopper (727 Walnut St., 215-925-3959, grasshopperproject.com) is 40 percent off all day. New plan: Everyone on the list gets homemade cookies and a really well-dressed party guest.
