It's been a week since Jesus' birthday and you still owe your grandmother a thank-you note — even if she did buy your Christmas present at a garage sale. Head over to Old City's Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, where limited-edition five-piece stationery sets are nestled amid enviable-but-overpriced tees and old-timey perfume vessels. In collaboration with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania (and its massive archives), Art in the Age is breathing new life into potentially boring artifacts and making history more user- and consumer-friendly. These cards — three of which are printed on substantial, creamy card stock and stamped with Civil War imagery, two of which are holiday-themed and showcase centuries-old chromolithography techniques — are available at $5 a pop or $20 for the set. Think of it as the perfect way to say, "Thanks for the slightly used steak knives, Gram."
