Second Season Arts Preview

Published: Jan 14, 2009

You may think it odd that our Second Season Arts Preview hits the stands in mid-January. "It's not spring!" You may say. "Going outside is the worst!" Not so, friend: Amid snow plows and mittens and Sundaylong-House-and-hot-chocolate marathons, there are endless arts and music happenings. And they're happening indoors.

Our preview begins with reference-heavy painter Anthony Campuzano, whose "Touch Sensitive" exhibit opens this weekend at the ICA. Next up: Bucks County band Illinois is releasing its Adventures of Kid Catastrophe project in chapters, to keep you on your '09 toes. Finally, meet Inis Nua Theatre Co., focusing on serious contemporary plays from the U.K. — not so much on leprechauns and dancing lords.

Before you go, school yourself on what's hot in the coming months: We've got calendars to meet your Visual Art, Dance, Theater, Rock/Pop, Jazz, Roots and Classical/Opera needs.

That should get you out the door.
