Phil Roy Dinner at Osteria
Tue., March 3, 6:30 p.m., $130

The Inquirer has called singer-songwriter Phil Roy "something of a local hero." It's appropriate, then, that he's providing the tunes for a dinner at Osteria, owned by fellow local hero Marc Vetri. Meet/greet Roy, a mean cook himself, while observing Vetri work his way through the preparation of your five-course dinner. Chef may even be enticed into playing a few tunes along with the pro. While the protein is resting, perhaps. Osteria, 640 N. Broad St., 215-763-0920, osteriaphilly.com.

$12 Express Lunch at Blackfish
Tue.-Fri., 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Chef Chip Roman has just been nominated for two James Beard awards, but you can get a taste of his talent on a bare-bones budget at lunchtime. Blackfish's new Express menu lets you choose two courses for just $12. Select from a crisp romaine Caesar salad, soup of the day, chicken pot pie or agnolotti pasta in brown butter and sage, among others. Crème brülée or molten chocolate cake finish you off. Blackfish Restaurant, 119 Fayette St., Conshohocken, 610-397-0888, blackfishrestaurant.com.

Atlantic City Restaurant Week
Sun.-Sat., March 1-7, $15.09-$33.09

Let Atlantic City show you it has more to offer than just negative checking balances/broken dreams. This year marks AC's very first restaurant week, and with 60-plus participating restaurants and cuisines ranging from Indian to Irish, they're aiming to impress. Choose between Italian at Il Mulino New York, Japanese at Izakaya and Latin at Cuba Libre, to name just a few. Many participants are preparing lunch and dinner menus. But be forewarned — with many eateries nestled between casino floors, the big-money clanging will be within earshot. Visit acrestaurantweek.com for a full list of participants.
