This recent Curtis grad, a student of the great Leon Fleisher, plays with an intensity of concentration and sense of beauty that focuses, laser like, on the core repertoire composers that he loves. He also has the curiosity to include new music in his programs, in this case, slipping the fascinating work of Hungarian composer Gyšrgy Kurtág into a mix of Mozart, Schubert and Chopin. Later in the month, he returns to Philly to play Beethoven with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
