Ethel Cee stormed the hip-hop scene in '08, and her upcoming full-length LP finds her rapping over breakbeat, electronica and house. Her risk-taking style was well met by the exuberant presence of independent designer/stylist Donja Love (myfashionmonkey.com); the two free spirits collaborated on a spring look straight from the dance-floors of the past. "We wanted to capture the essence of a hip-hop pinup doll," explained Love. "Ethel embodies the sexuality, the femininity and also the harder, masculine elements of hip-hop." More than just a magnetic MC, Ethel radiates a confidence that owns the room, as palpable as a driving beat.
