>> WAITING LIST
Mon., April 13, marks the official grand opening for Q, the barbecue/tequila bar that will replace the 26-year-old Philadelphia Fish & Co. in Old City. Kevin Meeker, his wife, Janet, and partner Tom Stewart, who decided to head toward this more comfortably priced concept due to the tentative economy, have westerned up the interior a bit, with new hardwood floors and a 22-foot mahogany bar table in the dining room. Stewart says there'll be four separate spice rubs on offer, and several different sauces to complement house-smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, whole chickens and sausage. There'll also be a section of Mexi street food (tacos, quesadillas), veggie options (veg chorizo, BBQ spaghetti), 60-plus tequilas and 10 American craft beers on tap. Full menu on Meal Ticket.
Neil Parish, owner of Cherry Hill's Kibitz Room, is aiming for late April to unveil the Center City branch of his NYC-style deli. At about 2,500 square feet with room for 70, it's a little bigger than the South Jersey original, but the grub offerings will remain largely the same — hot corned beef and hot pastrami sandwiches, a smoked fish selection and plenty of other signatures. Once a month, Parish plans on holding a reservation-only "Roumanian steakhouse" night in the style of Sammy's on the Lower East Side — veal chops, skirt steak, potato pancakes, kreplach, etc.

I have not filed my taxes yet. But if you are one of those people who leaned on your hardworking accountant to get those checks in the mail early, thank your receipt-hoarding guy or gal by telling them about the free CPA dinner promo at Morton's. Accountants: Call either the Philly or KoP Morton's locations (215-557-0724 or 610-491-1900) before April 14 to enter your name in a random drawing for a free steak and seafood feast valued at $99. Also, what is the difference between Form 1040 and Form 1040EZ?
