It's not a metaphor, or doesn't have to be: On the opening track to her new Middle Cyclone, Neko Case is a tornado who loves you so much she needs to kill you. "I have waited with a glacier's patience, smashed every transformer with every trailer till nothing was standing." Over nervous guitar strings and pulsing snare drums, she unleashes her fury across three counties, leaving a trail of corpses and orphans and twisted steel. "But it's never enough," she confesses hotly, "I want you." It's sick how catchy this song is, how much you forgive her confused bloodlust, how convincingly Case plays a force of nature.
Oh oh here she comes: Neko Case plays a sold-out Keswick on Friday.
