Nichole Canuso

Dancer/Choreographer

Stylist: Susie Hawkins | Location: Outside the Arts Parlor

Nichole Canuso and PhilaU fashion design senior Susie Hawkins share a passion for vintage. "I never buy new clothes," said Nichole, rifling through her extensive collection of boldly patterned vintage dresses. Whether new or recycled, working a mini requires a sharp eye for proportion: Susie's vintage poppy-print silk blouse is generous enough to balance the head-turning effect of a brief skirt. Nouveau neutrals, like this metallic leather tote and heeled snakeskin sandal, add dimension and detail to any outfit based on a simple silhouette. When sourcing vintage, look first for quality fabrics — and when in doubt, scissor the thing.
