If the name of her duo raises your hackles, just wait until you hear Aussie guitarist Kate Cooper sing about heat, hope and heartache. Better yet, suspend judgment until you've heard Cooper and drummer Damon Cox shift gears on "Little Lungs," from Rearrange Beds (Mom and Pop); what's at first soft and cloying eventually assumes a sense of emotional honesty and physical urgency. An Horse may take their time to get where they're going, but their aspiration's undeniable.
