Boston's Freezepop have been in the retro-'80s electropop game longer than most, but that doesn't mean they've ever bothered to grow up. The nerdy-chic trio, consisting of airily deadpan vocalist Liz Enthusiasm and dueling keytarists The Duke of Pannekoeken and The Other Sean T. Drinkwater, got together during the sweltering summer of 1999, perhaps while enjoying their namesake icy treat. 2007's Future Future Future Perfect found the group expanding their sound and their keyboard collection beyond the single Yamaha QY70 that generated all their earlier material, including such gloriously goofy confections as "Science Genius Girl" and "I Am Not Your Gameboy." But there are still no guitars anywhere to be heard — not that it stopped them from landing a song in Guitar Hero II. And they've lost none of their amateurish charm, especially on stage, where they'll readily admit that that song, "Less Talk More Rokk," is too fast for them to actually play. And then play it anyway.
