What's better than tacos in the morning? How about munching on some morning-time grub while a DJ spins your jams? Scheduled for every third Saturday, Cantina is hosting a musical brunch featuring a new deckhead every month. This month, DJ Jem (co-owner of Sweet Jane Vintage and Vinyl) will be spinning '60s rock and gospel to accompany eats like buttermilk pancakes with caramel sauce and French toast with cinnamon-infused maple syrup, as well as Tex-Mex classics like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, both with guajillo sauce. The brunch also features half-off drafts and discounted mimosas. Cantina Los Caballitos, 1651 E. Passyunk Ave., 215-755-3550, cantinaloscaballitos.com.

To roast a chicken properly is to master one of the quintessential techniques of French cuisine, or so they say. Foster's is giving you the opportunity to learn the technique yourself via this demonstration by Mémé chef/owner David Katz. During his class, you'll learn the proper way to cook the fowl, but you'll also be schooled on how to butcher a chicken and what do with all the parts (a skill that can save you money next time you hit up the supermarket). Foster's Homeware, 399 Market St., 215-925-0950, shopfosters.com.
