Downing margaritas on a Caribbean island may be the ideal way to relieve stress, but who other than McDonald's CEOs can afford to these days? Luckily, masseuse Matt Beck and aromatherapist Sarah Wilson offer a more affordable slice of paradise at their new wellness practice, located in the Random Tea Room & Curiosity Shop.
Setting themselves apart from conventional spas, the couple's work fuses the use of organic handmade oils with the massage treatment of your choice — Swedish, deep tissue or reflexology. Wilson says he'll change the oils on a seasonal basis, and guests can currently choose one of two stress-relieving scents — a musky Clay Sage Blend or the Vetiver Blend, which has an earthy, floral smell.
The pressures of your 40-hour work week will melt into oblivion for as little as $30 at Agrimony & Everlast. "By providing affordable services, we hope to bring the experience of this sort of bodywork [to] everyone who needs it," Wilson says.
And for those of you who cater daily to culinary snobs, rowdy teenagers and stingy tippers, Wilson (who is also a server at Osteria), feels your pain. "Matt and I offer a discount to servers, bartenders and kitchen staff," she says, "because we know how much they need it."
