What is it about watching a movie at midnight that makes it so special? Is it the eerie hour? The chance to see your favorite classics in the theater for the first time (or for the 47th)?
Ritz at the Bourse is getting in on the game. Beginning this Saturday night with Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future ("Where we're going, we don't need roads"), the program will run for seven weeks, ending with Hayao Miyazaki's breathtaking Spirited Away on June 20. The films range from classic, like Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (May 30), to just plain awesome — who you gonna call? Oh, yeah, that's right: Ghostbusters (June 5). No matter how many times you've watched it, you've never really seen the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man eat it until you watch him blow up on the big screen.
Check the Rep Film listings every week for scheduled screenings.
Every Saturday through June 20, midnight, $9, Ritz at the Bourse, 400 Ranstead St., 215-925-7500, landmarktheaters.com.
