With advertising, big paychecks and CEOs often wrapped up in it, it's easy to forget that graphic art is art, too. But AIGA Philadelphia — which promotes the graphic arts through lectures and activities — starkly reminds us in its exhibit of the tri-state area's best designers. Our favorites include a satirical illustration of George Bush (pictured), in which he's shackled, sickly blue and being chased by Sarah Palin and Barack Obama; and a mixed-media image of a tree, in which fish, butterflies and deer blend into the foliage, suggesting the ecosystem's reliance on the all-powerful plant.
