Edith Bouvier Beale and Little Edie Beale made for one dotty duo. Born into American aristocracy — they were the aunt and cousin, respectively, of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis — both ladies slipped into a bizarre, reclusive lifestyle (one recalls the quintessential eccentric's signature of a house overrun with cats). This much-heralded musical is likely to be a highlight of Philadelphia Theatre Co.'s season, featuring true-life mother/daughter melodrama and witty lyrics, lending some entertainment to two otherwise sad, odd souls.
