Imagine a book club. Then imagine a butcher shop. Now imagine them smashed together like chocolate and peanut butter. The result: local playwright Kathy Anderson's new comedy, a world première look at books, meat and romance, courtesy of the Philadelphia Theatre Workshop. When bloody hacksaw-wielders grow weary, they turn to Dickens, Austen and The Life of Pi — but they can't shake their day jobs, especially that ominous activity in the meatpacking plant's Section 8.
