Throw out your tight jeans and dust off your flip-flops — Philly's monthly dance party, Making Time, is flying from the floors of Pure to a giant, airplane-shaped pool in South Jersey.Nestled in the rolling hills of Medford, the Flying W Resort offers amenities that'll make it more than a normal Making Time outing — a restaurant, tiki bar, barbecue area and 28 hotel rooms, not to mention the pool you'll be splashing around in all day. There's also an airport offering airplane and helicopter joy rides, as well as games. "I'm shopping for a Slip 'N Slide, volleyball, badminton and any other stupid summer game I can find," says promoter Sean Agnew.
But, most importantly, all of the resident DJs, from Dave P to Adam Sparkles, will spin the electro beats that define the dance party. And, if you can't hitch a ride there, a round-trip shuttle ride from Philly is included in the $17 ticket.
So, is there any way it could backfire? Well, maybe. "I hope no one throws up in the pool!" says Agnew. Agreed.
Sat., June 27, 3-11 p.m., $12 (without round-trip shuttle from Philly)-$17 (with shuttle), Flying W Airport & Resort, 60 Fostertown Rd., Medford, N.J., 866-468-7619, r5productions.com.
