When actors meet for the first time on the opening night, one can only expect the show to go horribly, horribly wrong — which is just what the folks at the Philadelphia Dramatists Center want. As the romantic leads stumble through the third annual Anonymous Theatre production, written by a group of unnamed local Philadelphia playwrights, deception and cleverness meet to intentionally befuddle the actors into unstaged chaos. Only the director knows each cast member's piece in the play — until the houselights dim. Then the shenanigans unwind into a brutal attempt to produce cohesion from confusion.
