YogorinoCata Raisbeck quietly previewed her long-anticipated corner yogurt shop — it's the first standalone installment of the Italian-based brand in the U.S. — last weekend. (Yogorino also has a presence in Dubai, Madrid, Ibiza, Seoul and Milan.) Tomorrow, July 10, marks the shop's grand opening, and she'll be serving from 8 a.m. to midnight. Here's the skinny on the healthy stuff: Raisbeck uses all-natural and organic ingredients to produce her tart, probiotic-rich yogurt, which is served in four different sizes in neat little biodegradable cups. Toppings include fresh-cut fruit, nuts, cereals, sprinkles and an array of drizzled-over sauces, including pistachio, bitter chocolate and dulce de leche. Mohamad Kammoun and Al "Smiley" Chebab, both Lebanese in descent, have opened Leila Café in the space that formerly housed Wasabi House. (Leila, or "pure night" in Arabic, is the name of Kammoun's daughter.) The café, restaurant and hookah lounge, which accommodates 24 inside plus more on the sidewalk, serves shawarma, gyro and kebab sandwiches, falafel, salads and extensive vegetarian options. Lansdowne, just outside of West Philly in DelCo, doesn't have very many dining options, so the sit-down scene of this idyllic little 'burb has taken a big leap forward with the introduction of Sycamore, a BYOB from Stephen and Jennifer Wagner and chef Meg Votta, who previously cooked at West Chester's Simon Pearce, the Joseph Ambler Inn and Feast Your Eyes Catering. Open since late June, Sycamore is offering refined American plates — a pancetta, onion and goat cheese tart; crab cakes with brandy crema and mustard chive sauces; a pork chop with a port reduction, figs, gorgonzola and sweet peas — as well as a full-on cocktail list, provided you bring the booze.
