Thanks to her sweet voice, uncontroversial singer-songwriter tag and slow-tempo acoustic guitar jams about unrequited love, you will hear Zee Avi's self-titled debut album in a coffee shop this summer. You might even spot the CD in your mom's collection. But that doesn't mean it's completely unsexy or free of quirks: Avi's best moments are when she sheds her wholesome, conventional side — just for a second — and breaks out the ukulele, lets loose the scratchy, jazzy vocals and covers Morrissey's "First of the Gang to Die." 'Cause it's always fun to see a good girl go bad.
