McGillin's, Philly's oldest bar, is almost a century and a half old — but they've still got 150 days left till the 150-year milestone, so they're holding a special celebration to start the countdown. This Tuesday, they'll debut their new anniversary beer, McGillin's 1860 IPA, for the special price of $2 a pop; they'll also do a $5 three-beer sampler of that new brew, McGillin's Real Ale and McGillin's Genuine Lager (all produced by Adamstown's Stoudt's). A lucky participant will get to start off the countdown clock, and festivities will extend well into the morning hours. Daily News columnist Don "Joe Sixpack" Russell will also read excerpts from his book, Joe Sixpack's Philly Beer Guide: A Reporter's Notes on the Best Beer-Drinking City in America, and help thirsty party-goers choose the best brews on tap. Throughout the weekend, Reading Terminal Market's Amish vendors will sell traditional Pennsylvania Dutch foods such as chicken pot pie, fresh doughnuts, homemade ice cream and canned foods along with handmade woodcrafts, quilts and souvenirs. On Saturday, the festival will move outdoors and take over 11th Street to provide entertainment — think horse-and-buggy rides, a petting zoo and a bluegrass band. Considering the Amish's reputation for delicious food, if you leave here hungry, there's something wrong with you. Fourth Annual Doo Wop Car Show and Street Festival
Sun., Aug. 2, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., free

Visit East Passyunk Avenue this weekend and you may feel like you're back in the 1950s. All day long, the Ave will serve as the staging ground for a classic car show and street festival, the latter of which'll feature a 20-vendor craft fair at the Singing Fountain, live music from the Willy Williams and Friends Band, a DJ and more. Area restaurants and pubs, such as Cantina Los Caballitos, Lucky 13, Paradiso and others, will set up storefront tables and hand out special street food to hungry passers-by. You can dance while you dine, too, with a roving doo-wop group that'll travel around the fest. And if you're more of a wallflower, don't worry — there'll be plenty of outside seating available. National Cheesecake Day
Thu., July 30, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.

For those of us who aren't shy about our infatuation with cheesecake, July 30 marks the occasion for gluttony to unfold nationwide. The Cheesecake Factory chain is celebrating the occasion by offering half-off slices to those who dine in — and there are more than 30 varieties to choose from. The restaurant will also première its newest cheesecake flavor, red velvet, inspired by their "What's Your Flavor" contest winner; all year long, the Factory will give 25 cents from each purchase of this cake to Feeding America. Cheesecake and charity? We're sold. Cheesecake Factory, 2500 W. Moreland Road, Willow Grove, 215-659-0270, thecheesecakefactory.com.
