When James Daly founded Philly's oldest sketch comedy troupe in 1999, he was a loner: Most audiences preferred improv. Ten years later, Comic Energy is one in the city's sea of sketch groups. The vets' first show of the season will bring back familiar characters, such as Deborah, a young woman with a man's voice — but in new situations, like applying for a job as a phone sex operator.
