Crazy but true: Secret Room is the only area theater founded by a playwright who wasn't first and foremost a director. Hot local Alex Dremann, recently produced by the Actors Theatre of Louisville and a participant in Philadelphia Theatre Workshop's upcoming season, formed Secret Room to host a playwriting group, and it's grown into a producing company. 4Play premières a comedy quartet by local writers about foreplay and all the complications it engenders: Johnny Infamous by Matt Casarino, Privates Investigator by Josh McIlvain, Monogamy by Robin Rodriquez and Dremann's Four Dry Tongues. "Please come," Secret Room coyly entreats. "Bring protection," says I.Sept. 10, 11, 18 and 19, 8 p.m.; Sept. 12-13, 4 p.m.; $15, Plays and Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Place, 215-413-1318, livearts-fringe.org.
