NOW SEATING
Russ Cowan, owner of the landmark Famous, debuted this Center City rendition (above) on Sept. 4. It's a 60-seater with pretty much all the elements of the original, from the black-and-white tile to the in-house approach. (They do all their own baking, meat-curing, etc.) The menu's the same as the original, but hours here are trimmer: Mon.-Fri.,11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sat.-Sun., 9 a.m.-9 p.m. More pics and the full menu on Meal Ticket.
Milk and Honey is a venture from former food writer/current yoga instructor Annie Baum-Stein and her green builder husband, Mauro Daigle. Boasting both indoor and outdoor seating, M&H offers produce/grocery items from Lancaster Farm Fresh. Prepared foods include entrées from Cosmic Catering, panini featuring Italian meats from Claudio's, and chicken or egg salad served on Wild Flour Bakery challah. (They do bread from Four Worlds, too.) Try the market's signature spiced cupcake with honey buttercream frosting. They're open daily from 8 to 8.
Located in the restaurant space below Tavern on Camac, terra's a brand-new liquor-licensed affair from chef Eric Paraskevas, who earned good buzz for his food at Slate (102 S. 21st St.). "New American" is the line on the menu, which features eats like a pan-seared pork chop with glazed salsify, quince salsa and horseradish jus and black cod served with an rosemary/almond purée. Paraskevas was also in charge of constructing the heavily local beer list. Check out the full menu on Meal Ticket.
