Grammy Award-winning writer/producer/Fugees collaborator John Forte is a great example of what to do and what not to do. There was that drug-dealing conviction in 2000, and subsequent jail time. But since he got out last year, he's been making up for lost time — recording, teaching a college class and writing articles for The Daily Beast and Okayplayer. His StyleFREE EP (Theory 7) was released in July to fans and critics wondering if he's still got it. Seven tracks is not a lot of evidence. The jury's still out.
