We all know we're six degrees from Kevin Bacon (snore), but who among us can say we're only one degree from Madonna? This Saturday, you could: Christopher Ciccone, brother of the queen of reinvention, will sit on a panel of judges that determines which of 31 locals will win in the first-ever Gayborhood Games. Nightlifegay.com founder Bruce Yelk created the event because he felt some "Best of Philadelphia" lists missed the mark. "I saw one paper that listed a club in Atlantic City as the 'best men's night out in town,'" he says. "That's when I decided to come up with a list that's more relevant to gay Philadelphians." The competition will consist of seven categories, including best vocalist, dance crew, comedian and drag act. The finalists in these categories will go on to perform live in a format similar to American Idol or America's Got Talent, while those competing to be best hair stylist/salon, chef and bartender will prepare their specialties ahead of time for the judges and audience to sample. Joining Ciccone (pictured) on the panel will be porn star Bobby Rail, Sirius radio host Derek Hartley and singer/songwriter Karen Gross. Winners will receive a trophy, an $100 American Express card and a spot on nightlifegay.com's locals-only "Best Of" list.
Sat., Sept. 26, 7:30 p.m., $20-$40, Voyeur Club (formerly Pure), 1221 St. James St., 215-735-5772, nightlifegay.com.
