Busby Berkeley's choreography is like watching geometry in motion: His sequences are complex and beautiful, every dancer moving with grace and precision. Berkeley's fastidious dance numbers provide contrast to the madcap musicals they were in. Dancer/choreographer Kriota Willberg lectures on Berkeley and his influence as part of ICA's "Dance with Camera" exhibit; afterward, I-House will screen one of his films, 1934's Dames, about a millionaire named Ezra Ounce and his wacky, drunken fight against moral decline.
