When DC's Fort Knox Five and Holland's Kraak & Smaak lead the charge, nobody gets off the dancefloor alive. K&S did it sampladelic style on last year's Plastic People where the stew is hot and the vibe mechanical. Washington, D.C.'s Fort Knox Five, on the other hand, like their funk live, personable and on the global-hop tip. They bring cats like Afrika Bambaataa on The New Gold Standard 2 just to prove it.
