If you feel stabbed in the back by the proposed state arts tax, soothe the pain with part two of this year's Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST) — it's free and it's everywhere. This weekend, a slew of artists west of Broad Street will open their studios for your interactive pleasure. "The primary goal is to really encourage and create a community among artists and the public," says POST manager Ann Koivunen. "It's a very inclusive event in all neighborhoods." Tours range from individuals, like letterpress workshop host Katie Baldwin (whose Good Neighborhood, Bad Neighborhood is pictured), to institutions, like UPenn School of Design's MFA studios. Tying it all together is Sherman Mills, an East Falls live/work community with 18 artists who employ disparate mediums — but whose ultimate goal is shared: to spread the word that it doesn't pay to miss out on art in Philadelphia.
