If you've seen Pinocchio, you know that puppets don't need magic to come alive — just love. The proof is in Spiral Q's Peoplehood Parade, now in its 10th year, where diverse communities come together to create massive folk art-inspired puppets. "What was once seen as outlandish and fringe-ish," says program director Ted Enoch, "has become part of the neighborhood's fabric." This year's designs include "warehouse" puppets, which illustrate innovative uses of housing, and a "giant dream dragon" — who's totally related to Puff.
