On the eighth day, God created the Snuggie. Nah, just playing — the Slanket came first. Regardless, the blanket with arms has garnered quite a bit of hype lately. Yet, while many cities across the nation have held Snuggie pub crawls, Philadelphia has yet to don the reverse robe. Thanks to local friends Megan Bruce and Jennifer Shipman, though, Philadelphians can now participate in the goofy crawl. They can also give back — the final stop, Public House, will host an optional bar with a portion of the proceeds going to Project H.O.M.E., which will also take Snuggie donations post-crawl. Despite the good cause, Bruce says the response has been mixed. "It's really funny how polarizing it is. There are people who hate the idea, and people who have wanted to do it for 95 years." Even Bruce and Shipman are slow to the blanket bandwagon. At the time of this interview, neither woman owned a Snuggie.
